  • My dad farmed with a 1940 M, so I grew up driving it. The paint's all wrong, but it looks very sharp.

  • Old tractors are highly dangerous and should be banned Actually any tractor is wore out and ready for scrap in about 3 years. No rops no seat belt no back up beeper no safety nothing very unsafe.

  • Hey Oldguy.I grew up with this equipment, and yes it can be dangerous. But with proper instruction and a little common sense I had no safety incidents. As for tractors being worn out and ready for the scrap heap in 3 years, that's rediculous. You're saying everything older than 2017 is junk? You must be a tractor salesman. You should stay away from this equipment if it scares you this much.

  • Dale fron mn, why do people think the old stuff is dangerous?
thtoldguy wrote on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 (PDT):
  • Because it is. You sound like a kid. This forum needs to be 21 and older.

  • Hey Old Guy. If you're so offended by this equipment and feel it should be band and forgotten about, why are you looking at this website and offending those of us who enjoy this type of content like young Micah? I think you should apologize to him. And he's right you're a bit of a jerk.
Dale from MN wrote on Thursday, November 26, 2020 (PST):
  • Micah, you ask why this old stuff is dangerous. Back in the 40's and 50's people were expected to use common sense to keep themselves safe, things were not "idiot proof". The Old Guy lists some of the things we've come to expect as standard, seat belts, backup beepers, roll bars, cabs, at this time fenders were an option, open unguarded belt pullies were standard. Flat implement belts were highly dangerous when in use and caused a lot of injuries. So yeah, this stuff is dangerous, but so is walking across the road to the mailbox if you don't use common sense.

  • Dale you should apologize to thtoldguy, your very rude qnd just mad because you know he's right.
Dale from MN wrote on Saturday, December 12, 2020 (PST):
  • Excuse me, Concernedmom, but have you read Thtoldguy's very negative comments? He talks down to the rest the posters as if we're all idiots, and because he's college educated he knows it all. I cannot respect that attitude. If he cannot say something respectful about the content of this website, he should not say anything at all. I apologize to you if you think this is rude.
